In high school, he was so belligerant that his nickname was "McNasty" He got into and through USNA and flight school because his father and grandfather were 4 star admirals. He was a raunchy, roudy party boy and was at the bottom of his class. He lost several planes and almost sank the USS Forrestal with his hot dog capers.
