Welcome to the HipHappy Times.

In today’s crowded information world we all demand and deserve to be “entertained” while we are being “educated.”    Think Disney World and other themed environments.  There even is a name for it – called “Edu-tainment.” Think of this as your online comic book.  You will “Learn, Laugh and Love” as you get “Hip, Happy, High and Healthy.” You get the benefit of my 25 years as sociology professor, journalist, musician, and social change activist.

I consider this to be my manifesto - honest and critical look at things that I believe are important.  These include ensuring we elect Barack Obama, legalize marijuana, and remember the great people who have left us valuable legacies.  I also offer support and recognition to those I love – especially animals and women!!  You will also find tributes to some of the most important people who are no longer with us.

In particular, this magazine will show you how to be hip (understand and care about the world and your own mind).  You will become happy as you learn the truth and understand that life is for fun – not drama.  You will learn to get high on life – as well as on marijuana.  Finally, I pass on important strategies for how to stay mentally and spiritually healthy – given the toxic nature of today’s society.

I love how the Internet allows us each to have a chance to be heard.  I have been a journalist for almost three decades.  So I am now the publisher, editor, and chief writer of “The HipHappy Times.” My approach is to conduct a “Web Safari” on a topic of interest.  I then copy all the text from articles written by recognized media outlets.

I distill out the essence so that you can learn, laugh and love lots!!  That is the secret to happiness.  When you are hip you know what is going on – both inside your wonderful mind and in the larger society.  Like Tim Russert, George Carlin, and many others (e.g., Janis, Jerry, Bob, and Woody,) I tell truth to power and challenge the establishment!!
